How do I buy an SAP PRESS Subscription?
You can buy a subscription via our secure and convenient web shop, or you can contact our customer service.
To buy a subscription on the web, go to the subscription main page at www.sap-press.com/subscriptions, and use the configuration wizard to the right to choose the scope (Full vs. Topic Subscription), the number of users, and your subscription term:
- Choose the scope first. Your options are a Full Subscription (all books and E-Bites) or a Topic Subscription (all books and E-Bites in up to two topic areas).
- If you opted for “Topic Subscription” in the first step, now choose up to two topics. (If you need more than two topics, a Full Subscription is the cheaper option. That's why you can only choose a maximum of two topics.)
- Now, choose how many users should benefit from your subscription. Please note: All users will have access to the scope that you chose in step 1 and step 2. If you want different scopes for different users, you'll have to go through the wizard several times. If you feel your needs are too complex for the wizard, don't hesitate to contact our customer service!
- Lastly, choose your subscription term: Do you prefer month-to-month payments, or would you rather pay for an entire year and save?
The wizard now shows you your total (before taxes) per subscription term. You can proceed to the shopping cart to complete your order.
Once your order is complete, you will receive an email with license codes for each user. Distribute the codes to the users you want to have subscription access. Have them create an account on www.sap-press.com, go to “Library” and paste the code into the field “Enter License Key”. They will then have immediate access to all products you subscribed to.

What discounts are available for teams?
As always: the bigger your team, the more you save. And regardless which subscription scope you buy, discounts start with the second user:
- 2nd to 5th user: 10% discount
- 6th to 10th user: 20% discount
- 11th to 20th user: 50% discount
- 21st user and up: 75% discount

What is the difference between a Full Subscription and a Topic Subscription?
A Full Subscription includes every product available on our website at the time of purchase and every product that we will publish during your subscription term.
A Topic Subscription is more focused: It includes all products that you find under the topics of either Programming, Administration & EIM, HANA, BI & BW, Logistics, FICO & BPC, or HR on our website. The determination of which product is available in which topic category is made by our editorial team.
Both subscription types include all books and E-Bites that are available at the time of your purchase in either all of SAP PRESS or the topic you chose, plus all books and E-Bites that we publish during your subscription term.

How many books are included in a subscription?
This depends on the scope of your subscription. As of January 2019, the Full Subscription includes 191 books and 89 E-Bites (not counting E-Bites that were originally published as chapters of a book). A current list of publications for each topic category can be found on the subscription home page. The determination of which product is available in which topic category is made by our editorial team.

If you need subscription access to three or more topics, the Full Subscription is always the better deal. To prevent you from spending more money than you need to spend, we don't allow a third topic.

I want to mix and match subscriptions for my team, can I do that?
You can, but it's better to talk to our customer service about your exact needs. Our configuration wizard allows you to purchase one subscription scope for a certain number of users. If you need a different scope for a different group of users, you'll need to purchase a second subscription. When you do that, however, you won't benefit from our attractive team discounts. Our customer service can help with that and set you up with discounts across multiple subscriptions.

When does my subscription start? Can I set the date?
Your subscription starts when you submit the order. If you would like to set up a subscription for a specific start date, please contact our customer service.

I would like to buy a subscription without automatic renewal. How do I do that?
By default, all subscriptions renew automatically. However, once your order is submitted, you can manage your subscription in your customer account. If you don't want your subscription to renew, go to your customer account, section “Your Subscriptions”, and cancel your subscription. Your subscription will then expire at the end of the term you specified in your order (one month or one year) without renewal.

How long does my subscription run?
Your subscription runs either one month or one year. If you don't cancel by the end of the current term, your subscription will renew for another term.

When can I cancel?
You can cancel your subscription any time in your customer account or by contacting our customer service. Cancellation will become effective at the end of the current term.

I don't want my subscription to renew. What do I do?
You can manage and cancel your subscription in your customer account, section “Your Subscriptions”. When you cancel, your subscription will expire at the end of the then current term.

How do I access the books?
When you submit your subscription order, we will send you an e-mail with a license key. Click on the link in the e-mail, or copy the key and paste it into the field “Enter License Key” in the Library section on our website.
Once you have activated your license, you will see a yellow “Book Subscriptions” button. Clicking this button opens a separate window, from which you can add the books you subscribed to to your personal library. When a book has been added to your library, you can click on “Read Online” to access and read the book.
Another option to access the books is our mobile app. Once you've activated your subscription on the website, you will have immediate access to your subscribed books in the app, online and offline!

Can I download any books?
Yes, with our mobile app! The app allows you to download your subscribed books to your mobile device, on which you can access the books as long as you are subscribed.

Can I print?
You can print individual pages of books that you access via the subscription. Please do not share any printouts with other users.

Am I allowed to share my subscription?
The subscription license is a user-based license. Only paying users are allowed to access the books. So please, do not share your subscription.
We do, however, offer attractive discounts for additional users. If you need help setting up additional users for your subscription, don't hesitate to contact our customer service.

My library is empty—how do I add books?
Once you activated your subscription, you will see a yellow button “Book Subscriptions” in the header of the library application. When you click this button, a new window will open that lists all books that are part of your subscription (the Selection Panel). Clicking the button “+ Add to my library” next to each of the books will add this book to your web library. From here, you can start reading.
If you use our mobile app your app library will be populated with all your subscribed titles as soon as you log in.

I saw a new book just published, when do I get to read it?
New books will be added to your subscription automatically. The contents of your subscription update nightly, so you will see new publications in your Selection Panel the day after a book publishes at the latest.

I can't access my subscription—what's going on?
If you can't get access to your subscription, please check your customer account on our website. In the section “Your Subscriptions”, you should see information about the subscription that you are trying to access. Has your most recent payment failed? Did you cancel your subscription a while ago and your last subscription term has expired? If either of these are the case, you will be able to either update your payment information or renew your subscription. If you see any other problems in your customer account, or if the status suggests that everything should be ok, but you still can't get access, please contact our customer service.

Where can I see the status of my subscription?
The customer account on our website will give you a full picture of your subscription(s). Go to www.sap-press.com, log in, and select “Your account”. The section “Your Subscriptions” contains an entry for each subscription you purchased. The status (upper right corner of each entry) gives you a good idea of what's going on:
- Active: You can access this subscription, and the payment method is valid. You can see the date when the subscription will renew.
- Cancelled: You can still access this subscription, but you cancelled it to the end of the current term. You can see the expiration date of the subscription, which is the last day on which you can access the subscription if you don't renew. If you changed your mind or cancelled by mistake, don’t worry: You can reactivate your subscription right here.
- Payment error: Action is required! You can still access the subscription, but your last payment failed. However, we give you a couple of extra days of access. But you need to update your payment information, or we will deactivate the subscription soon!
- Inactive: You can't access this subscription. You either cancelled and the last paid term has expired, or your last payment failed and you didn't update your payment method soon enough. However, you can reactivate the subscription by clicking the button “Renew subscription”. (You may have to update your payment information, too.) If you reactivate you will find your library in the same status as you left it.
- Blocked: Our customer service blocked access to this subscription due to suspicious activity on your account. Please contact customer service, so we can figure out what’s going on.

I'd like to upgrade from a Topic Subscription to a Full Subscription—what do I do?
Unfortunately, an active subscription can't be updated. You need to cancel your current subscription and buy a new one. If you’re on a yearly plan and would like to upgrade, please contact our customer service. They will help.

My credit card number has changed—what do I do?
You can update your credit card number in your customer account. Log on to our website, and go to “Your account”. In the section “Payment Methods” you can create a new entry for your new card. Now go to the section “Your Subscriptions”. The “Pay with” field in the section with your current subscription has a drop-down menu where you can select the new card as payment method for your subscription.

I received an email saying that my subscription payment failed—what now?
Don't panic! You will still be able to access your subscription for 5 more days. During this time, log on to your account, and update your credit card information. If your payment failed although a valid credit card is associated with your subscription plan, please try to trigger the payment again.

I forgot to update my credit card information, and my subscription has been suspended. Can I reactivate it with a new card?
Yes, you can! Log on to your account, update your credit card information, and simply reactivate your subscription. Your subscription term will start over with the date of reactivation. When you go to your library, you will find all books exactly as you left them.

How do I cancel my subscription?
That's easy: Log on to your account, go to “Your Subscriptions”, and click “Cancel” in the subscription plan you would like to cancel. Your cancellation will become effective at the end of your current subscription term. You can see this date with your other plan information. Until then, you can access your subscription as usual.
If you change your mind and would like to keep your subscription after you cancelled, simply click on “Renew subscription”.

I cancelled my subscription a while ago, but now I want it back. What do I do?
We're glad you changed your mind! Log on to your account, go to “Your Subscriptions”, select the plan you would like to reactivate, and click “Reactivate”. You may have to update your credit card information as well. Your new subscription term and renewal periods start with the date you reactivate your plan.
Please note that plans that expired more than six months ago cannot be reactivated. We will notify you before this period expires. Of course, you can buy a new plan at any time.

I bought a subscription for multiple users—how do they get access?
When you ordered the subscription, we sent you an email with one license code per user. Have your users each create an account on our website www.sap-press.com. Send them one license code each and have them copy and paste these codes into the field “Enter License Key” in the Library. They should now see the yellow button labeled “Book Subscriptions”. Clicking this button will open the selection panel from where they can add books to their library and start reading. If they use our mobile app, their app library will be populated with all subscribed titles as soon as they log in.

Who is able to manage a multi-user subscription?
The account holder who ordered the subscription in our web shop is the account administrator. This person will see the plan information, including renewal date, associated users, payment information, and the opportunity to cancel in their account.
Only the administrator is able to cancel the subscription, update payment, information, revoke access for individual users, and access license codes for new users.

One of my team members doesn't need the subscription anymore—can I assign her license to someone else?
Yes! Log on to your account, and navigate to the subscription plan under “Subscriptions”. In the list of users associated with the plan, identify the person you would like to remove, and click “Revoke access”. You will then see a new “Open slot” with a new license code. Send this code to the person you want to have access instead and have him or her activate the subscription.

Can I add more users to my existing subscription?
Unfortunately, the scope of an existing plan (topic or number of users) cannot be changed. You can either cancel your existing plan and subscribe again with the new number of users (recommended for monthly plans). If you are on an annual plan and would like your additional users to benefit from group discounts, please contact our customer service.

Can I reduce the number of users in my subscription?
Unfortunately, the scope of an existing plan (topic or number of users) cannot be changed. You would have to cancel your existing plan and set up a new plan with the reduced number of users. If you need help with that, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service!

I'd like to upgrade some of my users to a Full License—can I do that?
We're happy they like the subscription! We recommend you contact our customer service, they can help! An individual plan cannot consist of multiple scopes, unfortunately. You would have to create a new plan for these users, cancel your existing plan, and purchase a topic-based plan for the remaining users again.
